Porto Torres, a town rich in history and culture, is famous all over the world for its beautiful beaches and the wealth of its parks and nature reserves, with the Cetacean Sanctuary and the Asinara National Park. The port of Porto Torres is the second call of Sardinia, in terms of passengers, and the first in terms of goods’ quantity. The civic port, partly located on the ancient medieval port (the roman port was built on the mouth of the river Riu Mannu), has been recently renovated. In the large square in front of the cableway there are the seat of the Port Medical Office and the Fish Market (under construction).
